MASSIMO DE CARLO world-known Italian contemporary art gallery with branches in Milan, London, HongKong and Paris, appointed RAMOPRIMO to design its very first gallery space in China, characterized by a specific approach, stronger be-to-be relationship between exhibition’s curators and visitors, and with curated visits by appointments for collectors. The whole space, at Blanc Art complex in northern Beijing, is divided into two main parts equipped with a system of sliding doors and rotating aluminum panels that make the space flexible and adaptable for different exhibition needs: a main contemporary art space of 145 m² with back office and storage space, and a 70 m² showroom with art lounge, service pantry and other facilities for private events. The two areas are facing each other’s, separated by a shared entrance corridor finished by aluminum corrugated surfaces that suggest a slightly industrial vibrancy to the space.
